MBA Mode as a fashion institute has gloried in seeing students come in with no experience whatsoever in fashion design, but leave (graduate) from the institute with profound knowledge and expertise as fashion designers and entrepreneurs.

Our goal is to empower the youth to become self- reliant entrepreneurs as we train and coach them to acquire skills in vocational training in fashion design.

To meet our mandate to set up the graduates of our institute, MBA Mode solicited and acquired sponsorship from Africa Is Life Changing (AILC, USA) for the less privileged who were financially handicapped. AILC sponsored tuition of some students and provided free multipurpose industrial sewing machine, while MBA Mode provided a startup pack to all graduates in 2018. This kind gesture from AILC has contributed tremendously to the entrepreneurial journey of all our graduates and they are all doing extremely well as fashion entrepreneurs and have the goal of training others in the field of fashion.

The 2019 graduation which was held on 25th day of May with the theme “YOUTH EMPOWERMENT THROUGH ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS DEVELOPMENT” was accompanied with exciting designs and well- crafted costumes with exquisite finishing thrilling to the amazement of all guests and invitees. The run way was flooded with myriads of models, displaying apparels of their designers in style and glamour. Parents, family members, invited guests and all who were present, couldn’t help but kept their hands busy in applauds to the carefully taught and constructed garments that their wards and siblings have produced. They were so excited with the structure of MBA Mode Institute, that has, in just one calendar year, transformed their wards from “not knowing how to thread a needle”, to great fashion designers.

Again this year, Africa is Life Changing, apart from providing part sponsorship to some financially handicapped students, procured and provided multipurpose industrial sewing machines to all deserving graduates. Total graduates for 2019 numbered up to 17 fashion designers. The CEO of AILC, Gloria Sana Terry was extremely delighted to have come down with the team from the USA to witness the graduation ceremony. She encouraged the graduates to continue be champions and put to work all the skills and techniques acquired.

Africa Is Life Changing (AILC, USA), in partnership with MBA Mode Institute collaborated with AG Care Ghana to embark on our KAYAYEE PROJECT. This project seeks to develop young girls, some of whom were trafficked, others migrated from the Northern and other parts of Ghana to Accra to seek for greener pastures - working as head potters known as Kayayee in the Ghanaian parlance. We train and equip them with self-employable vocational skills training in fashion design. AILC fully funded all costs of training two (2) Kayayee, which includes but not limited tuition fee, cost of fabrics and accessories for classroom practical, final project, graduation fee and all other relevant costs necessary for smooth course completion. These Kayayee were also given free multipurpose industrial sewing machines to enable them set-up their own business, so to earn decent income to support themselves and their families and be able to train others in the fashion profession. Madam Grace Kombian, Administrator, AG Care Ghana, in her speech at the ceremony, on behalf of her institution, expressed profound gratitude to the MBA Mode family for transforming the lives of these young underprivileged girls. She indicated that this act of selflessness would go a long way in building a generation of hope for these girls and their families. She also empowered them to make good use of the skills and knowledge acquired for the benefit of society as they are ambassadors of this great collaboration and especially to MBA Mode.

In her speech, Theresa M.B.A. Mintah, the CEO and Creative director of MBA Mode congratulated the graduates for a good work done and a fight well fought in achieving successes in this chosen career. She encouraged them to put into continuous practice the skills acquired and be relevant to their communities as they impart these skills unto others.

The Chairperson of the graduation ceremony, Madam Anna Tenemba Samake, the Executive director of MBC Africa in her closing remarks empowered the graduates to step out there as entrepreneurs and take up every opportunity that presents itself to them, for there are several of great opportunities they can tap in this fashion industry.

The Administrative director of MBA Mode, Mr. George Ofosu in an interview expressed his gratitude to the Board of Advisors, all invited guests and invitees for the overwhelming support and assistance in whichever way contributed to make the ceremony a great success. He mentioned that, graduation ceremony for the year 2020 would witness about 40 students graduating and therefore encouraged both students and guardians to be committed to the course and make the best out of it. He hinted that the goal for the institute in the next 5 years is to become a college as it seeks to commence the construction of a multipurpose school complex for MBA Mode Institute.
